Capitals Alliance Meetings
Capitals Alliance meetings are scheduled
approximately every 18 months. Since the launch of the
organization in 2001, Alliance gatherings have been hosted on a
rotating basis by one of the founding members, beginning with
Canberra in 2002.
Alliance participants will next meet during the week of
September 14-18, 2008 in
Washington, DC. Hosted by the National Capital Planning
Commission, the central planning agency for the U.S.
government's National Capital Region, the meeting will focus on
Greening the World's Capital Cities. Delegates from
more than 50 capital cities have been invited to participate.
The event will be the sixth gathering of the Alliance since its
